Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)
The acronym ISHANA symbolizes the skyward face and the power of consciousness to realize universal truth, drawing from associations with Akasha (ether), the Vishuddha chakra, and the Anandamaya kosha to embody the total energy of Shiva and the revealing force of divine truth. In its organizational context, ISHANA also represents a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) — independent, non-profit entities that address social, environmental, humanitarian, and developmental challenges while fostering community empowerment and positive change.
ISHANA sustains its initiatives primarily through voluntary contributions from individual donors, offered as one-time gifts or recurring commitments. To ensure consistent resource mobilization and stakeholder engagement, the organization employs structured fundraising strategies such as direct outreach, digital campaigns, and community-driven events, thereby advancing its social and developmental objectives with transparency and accountability.
Individuals who wish to work with or volunteer for ISHANA are expected to demonstrate a genuine passion for its mission and a strong commitment to creating meaningful social impact. Coupled with qualities such as integrity, accountability, adaptability, and competencies in communication, collaboration, and organizational management, these attributes enable personnel to contribute effectively and uphold ISHANA’s role as a trusted agent of social change.
In ISHANA’s context, CAPACITY BUILDING is the strategic process of strengthening internal systems, resources, and competencies to enhance mission delivery and long-term impact. By improving governance, developing human resources, and optimizing operations, ISHANA reinforces resilience, fosters innovation, and ensures its continued effectiveness as a trusted agent of social change.
The timeline for temple construction varies based on scale, architectural complexity, and regulatory approvals. While smaller temples may be completed within a few months, larger projects — particularly those involving heritage restoration or intricate craftsmanship — often extend beyond a year to ensure quality, compliance, and cultural integrity.
ISHANA Foundation ensures cultural and religious authenticity by collaborating closely with religious scholars, temple priests, and heritage experts, adhering to traditional architectural principles and scriptural references. Through this integration of expert knowledge and community values, the Foundation safeguards sacred traditions while delivering projects that preserve and honor cultural heritage.
The ISHANA Foundation is dedicated to supporting the construction and restoration of temples across Karnataka, with emphasis on historical, rural, and community temples. These initiatives strengthen the structural integrity and longevity of sacred spaces, ensuring their continued spiritual, cultural, and social relevance for future generations.
We maintain transparency by providing donors, partners, and supporters with detailed financial reports and project updates. Our fund utilization policy ensures that every rupee is accounted for and directed exclusively toward temple development initiatives.
All donations are eligible for tax benefits under Sections 80G and 12A.
